When I first heard of cold bendable hardwood from Fluted Beams LLC of Gig Harbor, WA, the concept seemed so unlikely that it barely raised and eyebrow. Here was a company claiming that its hardwood had been processed so it could be bent into pretzels right out of the box. Srely, I thought, this involved plastic miracle glue, lamination, hocus-pocus and magic wands. The end result, I guessed, was a lumber Chicken McNugget....
