Fluted™ Beams were the first products introduced by PURE TIMBER in 2005. Originally, the company was named for this product but after significant product diversification, the name PURE TIMBER was adopted in 2010. Fluted™ Beams are engineered beams made from assemblies of dimensionally stable, veneered, LVL or Glulam flanges and solid fluted webs. They are most commonly used to support stairways or as headers in open areas where they can receive maximum visibility.
Extreme Bend Glulam Beams are bent from thick solid hardwood. These curved beams, are bent and laminated to required dimensions in 3", 5", 8" and 10" widths and any depth. Minimum bend radius is 12" for 3" and 16" for 5" widths. Tighter bends (almost to right angels) and wider beams are possible. Compressed Wood allows for more challenging bends to be created in wood, something that only metal would have been considered for formerly. The extreme bends may be attached to straight run timbers with metal connectors if desired.
Fluted™ Trusses are manufactured using braces from bent solid hardwood. Technically known as a Braced, Parallel Chord Truss, These trusses are available in sizes up to 4 feet deep x 12" wide x 40 feet long. Load carrying capacity is similar to solid timber of the same dimensions.
